About the College:

This college was established in 1993 and was affiliated to the University of Kashmir on temporary basis to impart instruction in B.Ed. course. The college is located at Parrary Pora, Bhagat, Srinagar at a distance of 4kms from Lal Chowk, Srinagar.

 
Library: Well stocked library with a rich collection of over 9000 books and various national and international journals, magazines besides commissions, recommendations and reports, national and local news papers are available in the library. These learning resources provide students good literature and information in the field of teacher education.
Subjects Offered:

 Besides the four compulsory papers the college offers four: options in paper V namely

  • Teaching of English,

  • Teaching of Hindi,

  • Teaching of Urdu and

  • Teaching of Punjabi.

In paper VI and VII the college offers the following options i.e.,

  • Teaching of History & Civics,

  • Teaching of Geography,

  • Teaching of Bio-Science,

  • Teaching of Physical Science,

  • Teaching of Mathematics.

A candidate has to choose one from the above. Besides B.Ed. The college 1s expecting M.Ed programme also in the session 2006.

In paper VIII (Special courses), the college offers the following options.

  • Education Technology.                                                                             .

  • Guidance & Counseling

  • Population Education.

  • Elementary Computer Education

  • School Management.
Laboratories:

The college has modernized audio-visual aids laboratory with a good collection of maps, charts, graph-boards, outline-maps, rolling-boards, flannel-boards, globes, models, geometrical-sets, television, tape-recorder, D.V.D, C.D players, over-head projector, CC T.V etc.

 
Computer Laboratory:

The College has a well established central computer laboratory having about 45 computers with allied facilities like internet, net-working, scanning, printing, fax- facility, pertinent to mention, generator facility is also available to overcome electric deficiency, if any.
