About the College

M.E.T College of Education was established in the year 1972 and is permanently affiliated to the University of Kashmir to impart instructions in the B.Ed Course. The College is situated at Sub- Divisional Head Quarters of Sopore Town 50 KM away from Srinagar. The College is run by the Board of Trustees as given below:-

1. Mr. Gh. Hassan Bacha (Administrator)

2. Mr. Gh. Ahmad Bacha (Member)

Two members namely Late Professor Gh. Rasool Bacha and Late Gh. Qadir Untoo have passed away. Besides a managing body comprised of the following members to look after the Trust affairs was framed and got authenticated by the administrative department of the Government:-

Administrative block and Library having a good number of text books, reference books etc. seven well equipped hostel buildings (three for Boys and four for Girls).

Besides this College has a Higher Secondary School (10+2) having well equipped laboratory. There are enough playground facilities with sports department available.

  • Environmental Education.

In Paper -VI Namely

  • Teaching of English.
  • Teaching of Urdu.
  • Teaching of Hindi.
  • Teaching ofPunjabi

In Paper- VII Namely

  • Teaching ofHistory.
  • Teaching of Geography.
  • Teaching of Mathematics.
  • Teaching of Bio-Science
Hostel Facility

Adequate hostel facilities particularly mess halls, recreation halls separately for Boys and Girls on the campus are available to accommodate at least 600 boarders.

  • Physical and Bioscience Laboratory .
  • Geography and Science Laboratory.
  • Psychology Laboratory.

School of 10+2 pattern and a network of practice centers adjacent to the College.

Book bank is adequately equipped with text and reference print materials.
Computer lab

A full Computer Laboratory with Photostat machine and fax facilities and experienced staff is available to handle the computer centre. This college celebrates its raising day on 24th December every year. This historic day is graced by eminent personalities of all walks of academic life and all other Co-curricular programmes, Seminars,debates and occasions of national importance are celebrated from time to time on the campus.
