Franklin College has been founded on a solid base of ideals, goals and objectives to cater to the needs of present day educational system and to hone the new generation to the responsible citizen of tomorrow. The institute has positioned itself as a modern institution imparting quality education and promising to fulfill the requirement of present students community. The College is located in the heart of Sopore town at  "WULAR LAKE " road with beautiful backdrop of fields and greenery around. Our college is being running in our massive building with further scope for expansion.

 The College has been granted permission by J&K state Govt. vide Government order  No. 143 /HE of 2007, Dated 19/07/2007  and is affiliated to the University of Kashmir (NAAC Accredited Grade “A”) Vide affiliation letter No. F(estab-B.Ed)Acad/KU/07 dated: 2nd july-2007 for imparting instructions in the B.Ed programme.

 The College bas a rich library having thousands of books on all subjects taught in the BEd. course. There is good number of 'General' as well as 'Reference' books. We subscribe to some general as well as professional journals and magazines. We have a well-equipped. Ventilated, lighted and airy reading room which the students use for enriching their knowledge.

• Laboratory:- Audio visual facility is available with over head projector, slide projector with maps and charts psychological tests, tools teaching Aid material etc. Besides digital camera, lamination facilities are also available.
• Scientifically fixed laboratory with equipments, apparatus, chemicals, charts, diagrams, glassware, microscopes etc. Besides Skelton and models are designed to view a true laboratory for the students use.

• Computer Lab:- Networked computer lab with internet facility and battery backup available round the clock.
• Sports :-Sports complex catering to outdoor interests of students..
• Faculty:- The Greatest asset of our college is the resource of qualified , trained and dedicated teachers with a mission of teaching and learning absolutely with no compromise.
• Besides the above mentioned facilities, we have Photostat copier, generator, lamination and digital cameras quite at hand to cater the needs of the students.

The college has made available separate hostels for boys and girls with well furnished rooms, attached bath rooms and common halls for boys and girls in each hostel. Besides well ventilated dinning halls for serving hygienic food to the students.                                  

in accordance with U.G.C and Kashmir University norms, the College provides the subject stream in B.Ed course as under:

Besides four compulsory papers (core subjects I,II,III, IV), the College offers language paper's in teaching of English.  Hindi. Punjabi and Urdu (paper V) with additional subjects in Teaching of History, Geography, Mathematics , Physical Science and Bio-Science (paper VI) with the choice in special paper  as Computer Education, Population Education, Guidance and Counseling , Environmental Education and Physical Education as paper VII.
