Dr. Iqbal Training College is a pioneer  College in the valley established in the year 1994  to Promote educational system and to impart latest technique instruction to the B.Ed trainees. The college is recognized by J & K Government  and is affiliated to the university of Kashmir. The college is also recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC)), New Delhi. The college has completed its thirteen years of commendable service in popularizing and Promoting  teacher education programme.The college is situated at mahjoor nagar near Rambagh bridge across doodh ganga.it is at a distance of about two kilometers from lalchowk (srinagar).The College has beautiful 2 – storey L-Shaped building capacious classrooms which are fully equipped with furniture and furnishing. The college has its own assets in the form of land with greeneries, parks and capacious playground for outdoor games.Merit cum poverty scholarships are given to the meritorious and poor students and physically handicapped students are also benefited.The college has highly qualified and well trained staff who impart learning skills to the trainees with dedication and zeal.The College is likely to start ETT and NIT  elementary teacher training and Nursery teacher training programme approved by the State board of School of Education .The College has all the facilities for this programme

The College has highly equipped separate laboratories in Bio-science, Physical Science and  Geography.The psychology lab is equipped with modern psychology tests and material.The computer lab has new computers, printers and scanner exclusively for the benefit of the students in  the college. The Audio-Visual room is equipped with Television, CD Player, Projectors, Maps Models, Tape-recorder, CD’s of Educational films etc.

Subjects Offered:

 

 

Besides, four compulsory papers, the college offers five options, namely Population Education, Guidance and Counselling, Special Education Physical and Health Education, Education Planning and Administration, Non-formal Education, Value Education, Music/Art Education, Home Science and Ecology and Environment. In papers VI and VII the college offers choice of 10 subjects namely, Teaching of English, History, Geography, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Physical Science, Biological Science and Mathematics.
